About KFPI:
Our 2 core focus: communications and the future
KTK-Fujikura Philippines Inc. (KFPI) was incorporated on November 18, 1996, as a strategic partnership between two top caliber companies in Japan – KTK Telecoms and Fujikura Ltd. KTK Telecoms (now known as Commuture Corp) specializes in Total Systems Integration and Project Management of Telecommunications and IT Network Solutions, whereas Fujikura Limited is one of the world's top manufacturers of fiber, cable and optoelectronics equipment.
With the combined supply and installation records of its parent companies in the full turnkey telephone networks in the global arena, KFPI was established to maximize the booming growth of the telecommunications industry in the Philippines after the liberalization of the telecoms industry in 1995. In its first 10 years in the Philippines, KFPI played a key role in the design and installation of Outside Plant Network for local telcos such as Bayantel, Smart Communications, Digitel, PLDT and Globe Telecoms.
KFPI's expertise and value proposition in the OSP industry then was its proven expertise and experiences in delivering large scale turnkey OSP infrastructure projects covering works such as demand forecasting, network engineering, project management, civil engineering, optical fiber and copper network cable system, wireless transmission and exchange, and overhead transmission towers.
The recent shift in the global horizon has seen the steady but sure replacement of the legacy OSP telephone network with the converged network of the future - the high speed IP based network which will support multiple applications such as voice, video and data. In Japan and the rest of the developed nations, service providers are offering "triple-play" services on fiber access feeds to consumers which supports speeds of up to 100MBps.
Japan is the sole leader in the world in the field of Fiber to the Home in terms of innovations as well as deployment.
Fujikura Limited is one of the major manufacturer and suppliers of both FTTH optical fiber, connectors and network equipment for the Japanese FTTH markets.
The FTTH network is basically an Ethernet based fiber network that delivers guranteed high-speed and secured networks up to 20km in radius. This FTTH newtork is a standard - IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet Passive Optical Network (ePON).
With the ePON, both private and public enterprises with large real properties spread over a wide area can now deploy its own private high speed network and will no longer need to pay for leased lines and networks to interconnect all of its remote site.
In the Philippines, due to the strong initiatives by the national government and LGUs for computerization and e-Governance, one can anticipate the inevitable need for broadband connectivity that is able to provide secure and high bandwidth network to link the Provincial Capitol with its key Municipalities and other important institutions such as schools, hospitals, Police, etc. Broadband and connectivity are essentially the key foundations for any e-Governance program or any knowledge economy to proper.
KFPI sees a potential market in the Philippines for these private IP based networks and with the strong support and access to Fujikura's global leadership in the ePON technology, we are able to offer these unmatched technological edge, skills, and expertise of fiber connectivity solutions to local clients.
